Startup Speed Dating 2016: Love was in the air
Dating, dating, dating…and a decent amount of courting! That happened at the Startup Speed Dating event which took place last Thursday, 14 April at the Dozentenfoyer in the main ETH building.
Each of the 32 startups had 12 dates. There were 100 candidates – students, innovation enthusiasts, researchers. Startups were offering opportunities for jobs, internships, thesis and also shares.
Among the startups were Dacuda - a Swiss software company offering a unique content capturing technology based on real-time image processing, flatev who developed a machine for flatbreads like Mexican tortillas, Indian rotis or Middle Eastern pita. Contovista’s software automatically categorises all bank transactions and visualises aggregations with easy to understand charts. Locatee Analytics helps real estate managers to analyse the utilization of office space continuously and in real-time. Scandit delivers high performance mobile solutions for smartphones, tablets and wearables, designed to transform consumer engagement and operational efficiency. Fractal Flows are helping students, scientists, researchers, and engineers to expose and discover the hidden work behind scientific publications. Avrios is the first, fully digital fleet manager for companies.
There were 25 more startups in the spheres of sports, fintech, food technologies, security, dentistry, culture and art, retail, virtual reality etc. The full list of startups and descriptions is available here.
Throughout the event startups, candidates and guests could enjoy the amazing view of Zurich at the terrace as well as drinks and food at the ongoing Apéro.
